OceanicHost is a domain reseller, not an ICANN-accredited registrar; its service agreement does not name the accredited registrar behind it. The customer contract is with Netacel Inc., an International Business Company incorporated in the Seychelles.
Ownership and privacy. Domains are registered under the customer's own registrant data, so the customer is the legal registrant. WHOIS privacy is applied by default for TLDs that support it, at 0.00 EUR per domain; some ccTLD registries require public registrant data, and there privacy cannot be applied.
Sign-up. An e-mail address is enough to open an account, and OceanicHost states that it never asks for ID or KYC. The client area is also reachable as a Tor onion address.
Risk of losing a domain. OceanicHost says it does not suspend domains over content hosted elsewhere. Copyright complaints are handled under the law of the data centre's jurisdiction rather than the US DMCA. The agreement allows account suspension with or without prior notice, and the transfer auth code is issued by OceanicHost on request, not generated by the customer.
Prices and payment. A .com costs 16.00 EUR for the first year, 21.00 EUR to renew and 21.00 EUR to transfer in. The catalogue lists 500+ endings, including generic, new and country-code TLDs. Payment is possible in Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT and Monero, as well as by card or PayPal. Free DNS hosting is included; support is by ticket only.
